Sep. 6: Jane Addams, American social activist

BORN SEPTEMBER 6th:

Jane Addams (1860-1935) American social activist known for women's rights and suffrage, and for winning the 1931 Nobel Peace Prize. Her thoughts a century ago sync with the best progressive thinking today. Addams wrote Twenty Years at Hull-House; The Spirit of Youth and the City Streets; and Democracy and Social Ethics.
