Jacob Grimm (1785-1863) German folklorist known for Kinder-und Hausmärchen (Children's and Household Tales, with brother Wilhelm), better known as Grimm's Fairy Tales, which the brothers first published to finance their research; and Deutsche Mythologie (Teutonic Mythology).
