Sep. 10: Mary Oliver, American poet

BORN SEPTEMBER 10th:

Mary Oliver (1935-2019) American poet known for looking deeply into nature; Pulitzer Prize for Poetry (1984). She took her inspiration more from the natural than the human world, reflecting a lifelong love of taking solitary walks in wilderness. In "When Death Comes" she wrote: "When it's over, I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement."
