Oct. 11: Elmore Leonard, American writer

BORN OCTOBER 11th:

Elmore Leonard (1925-2013) American novelist and short story writer who created Raylan Givens of Justified, and wrote Get Shorty, Hombre, Mr. Majestyk, and "Three-Ten to Yuma." He started out writing westerns, but soon switched to crime, and made a big impression in the moving pictures: over two dozen of his stories have been adapted for film and TV--not to mention the handful of original screenplays he wrote himself.
