BORN NOVEMBER 7:
Albert Camus (1913-1960) French philosopher, author, and journalist. Considered to be an existentialist, a label he rejected, his writings contributed to an even more extreme point of view: absurdism. Works include The Stranger, The Plague, and The Myth of Sisyphus. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1957.
