BORN NOVEMBER 9:
Carl Sagan (1934-1996) American scientist and author best known for his presentation Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, and numerous other accessible essays on science, as well as representing the scientific worldview in the popular media. He won the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction in 1978. What's more, Sagan's work inspired a generation of scientists, including his successor in the Cosmos series, Neil deGrasse Tyson (who actually met him in person at age 17).
