BORN NOVEMBER 13:
Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) Scottish novelist, poet, essayist, and travel writer. He was a prolific writer and traveled widely, despite lifelong poor health. He died at his home in Samoa at age 44. He wrote Treasure Island; Kidnapped; A Child's Garden of Verses; and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
