Dec. 8: James Thurber, American cartoonist and author

BORN DECEMBER 8:

James Thurber (1894-1961) American cartoonist and author. His best-known short story, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," gained fame in two movie adaptations. "The Catbird Seat" and "The Unicorn in the Garden" are also well known, as is his autobiography, My Life and Hard Times. He also wrote children's books.
