BORN DECEMBER 10:
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) "The Belle of Amherst," American poet who wrote nearly 1800 short poems. Many of her works are virtually indecipherable for most of us. Easiest of access are poems like "There is no frigate like a book"; "I'm Nobody! Who are you?"; "Because I could not stop for death"; "I taste a liquor never brewed"; "I like to see it lap the Miles"; etc.
