Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) German astronomer and mathematician who codified the laws of planetary motion; he wrote Astronomia Nova (New Astronomy); Harmonices Mundi (The Harmony of the World); and Epitome Astronomiae Copernicanae (Epitome of Copernican Astronomy).
